Servicemen of the mortar units of the motorized rifle unit of the Central Military District (CVD) during an exercise at the Yurginsky training ground in the Kemerovo Region worked out the method of high-speed firing from 122 mm Sani mortars.

According to the plan of the exercise, the mortar men had to destroy targets imitating lightly armored vehicles, manpower, and firing points of a conventional enemy at a distance of 700 to 4.5 thousand.

Combat firing was carried out both from open and closed firing positions. Adjustment of firing and control of target destruction was carried out by calculations of the Orlan-10 UAV complexes.

In addition, during the exercise, the mortar crews worked out the standards for target detection and fire adjustment, and also completed a high-speed overcoming of a route more than 10 km long, overcoming various natural and specially prepared obstacles.

The 122-mm transportable mortar 2S12 “Sani” is designed to defeat enemy personnel located openly or in shelters, as well as fire weapons, command and observation posts, weapons and military equipment.

More than 500 servicemen and about 40 units of military equipment were involved in the exercise.
