A monument dedicated to soldiers-internationalists was erected in the Operational Group of Russian Forces in the Transnistrian Region of the Republic of Moldova (OGRV PRRM).

The monument was opened for the Day of Remembrance of the Russians who performed their official duty outside the Fatherland on the territory of the Patriot military-patriotic park in its military-historical sector, which includes the military path of the formation, the exposition of the Great Patriotic War, the peacekeeping operation in Transnistria and the exposition of modern army.

The honorary right to open the monument was given to the head of the OGRV PRRM and a veteran of hostilities in Afghanistan. The monument combines an imitation of the Kremlin wall and the wall of the Bendery fortress, as well as a sculpture in the form of a battle banner, a black tulip and an obelisk with the names of those killed in the Afghan war.
