Servicemen of the motorized rifle unit of the Central Military District of the Central Military District, stationed in the Kemerovo Region, worked out elements of extreme driving on the BMP-2 with overcoming virgin snow.

Officers and mechanic drivers performed exercises on driving combat vehicles on rough terrain with a snow depth of more than one meter and snowdrifts reaching two to three meters in height. On the five-kilometer route, the servicemen also overcame natural and artificial obstacles, including: a track bridge, track passages in a minefield, an anti-tank ditch, steep ascents and descents. During maneuvering, the elements of movement in various gears, turns at different angles, braking and sudden stops on command, and reverse movement were practiced. Driving on the BMP-2 was carried out at the highest possible speed in the daytime and in the dark.

More than 500 servicemen and about 30 units of military equipment were involved in the events.

The combined arms formation of the Central Military District is deployed in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Tyumen, Irkutsk regions, Altai Territory and the Republic of Tyva. It includes motorized rifle, artillery formations, air defense troops, RChBZ and communications.
