At the Caspian Flotilla, reconnaissance units celebrate the Day of Intelligence of the Russian Navy.

The scout of the naval fleet solves the tasks of collecting information about the locations of deployment, weapons, numerical strength, the alleged intentions of the opposing units and subunits of the enemy grouping. The obtained data are used by the command to assess the situation and make decisions for the conduct of hostilities.

Currently, within the framework of the field exit, the reconnaissance units of the Caspian Flotilla are performing combat training tasks at the Adanak mountain range in Dagestan.

During the training events, special attention is paid to the practical use of modern reconnaissance means by scouts: the Strelets portable reconnaissance, control and communication systems equipped with an integrated GLONASS navigation system, SBR-5 short-range reconnaissance stations and LPR-2 laser reconnaissance devices.

Also, at the field exit, the military personnel of the reconnaissance units organize observation posts, improve the skills of organizing ambushes and camouflage using improvised means and taking into account the terrain. The scouts constantly conduct trainings on the search and neutralization of conditional illegal armed groups, practice the placement of “secrets”, observers, sniper pairs, equipment and camouflage of hidden positions, learn about mine explosives and shooting from all types of small arms.

In total, about 300 servicemen of the Caspian Flotilla reconnaissance units were involved in training activities at the Adanak training ground, about 30 units of military equipment were involved, including the BTR-82AM armored personnel carriers.
