Another batch of Gam-COVID-Vac (Sputnik V) vaccine against a new coronavirus infection in the amount of about 2 thousand doses was delivered to the polyclinic of the Federal State Institution “412 VG of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation” in the city of Kaspiysk.

The vaccine is intended for military personnel of formations and military units of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) stationed in the Republic of Dagestan. Antiviral vaccinations are offered to all categories of military personnel, including officers, contract soldiers, conscripts, civilian personnel and family members of military personnel.

Vaccination is carried out voluntarily on the basis of the written consent of the military and civilian personnel.

Currently, two vaccination teams of CFL medical specialists are vaccinating the flotilla against COVID-19, no cases of complications or intolerance to the vaccine have been identified.

On average, about 100 military personnel receive the first and second components of the Sputnik V vaccine every day; it is planned to vaccinate about 400 people by the end of the week.

The delivery of the drug to Dagestan was carried out by the branches of the military hospital of the Southern Military District, accompanied by medical specialists, in compliance with all transportation measures and cooling regimes to ensure the safety of the vaccine properties, the effectiveness and safety of the immunization and compliance with the requirements of the “cold chain”.

In accordance with the sanitary rules, in order to preserve all the useful and preventive characteristics of drugs, a set of measures was organized to ensure the optimal temperature during storage and transportation of drugs. Temperature control is carried out at all stages of vaccine movement: from its manufacture to delivery to a specific patient, which is the most important step in guaranteeing the safety of the drugs.

All military medical organizations operating on the basis of military hospitals and polyclinics of the Southern Military District are equipped with specialized refrigeration and other certified equipment necessary for storing the vaccine.
