Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu congratulated the creators, actors and fans of the film “Officers” on the 50th anniversary of the film, noting that images from the film have forever entered the treasury of national cinema.

The images created by Vasily Lanov and Georgy Yumatov, brilliantly performed by Alina Pokrovskaya as an officer’s wife, who together with her husband went through all the hardships and deprivations of the army service, have forever entered the treasury of Russian cinema, ”the congratulation says.

The film “Officers” premiered in 1971. The success of the film by director Vladimir Rogovoy based on the story of Boris Vasiliev was overwhelming. The competition for military universities in the country immediately increased several times.

The jubilee celebration of the film opens with a concert program “The Whole World Remembers Them in the Face” at the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army, which will be dedicated to Russian officers – from the Russian Empire to the present day.

The program will feature performers of the main roles in the film “Officers” People’s Artist of Russia Alina Pokrovskaya, Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Voevodin, Consul of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Bulgaria Andrei Gromov, as well as Russian pop and film stars.

One block of the program will be dedicated to the memory of the performer of the role of Colonel General Ivan Varavva – People’s Artist of the USSR, Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation Vasily Semyonovich Lanovoy, who died on January 28 this year.
