At the training grounds in the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, a comprehensive exercise began with the participation of about 1,000 servicemen from the Central Military District (CVO).

According to the concept of practical actions, reconnaissance units with the help of “Strelets” complexes and unmanned aerial vehicles uncovered the areas of accumulation of manpower and equipment of the imaginary enemy. Artillery and air strikes were carried out on the identified positions using Msta self-propelled howitzers, Grad and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems, and Mi-24 helicopters.

To counteract the air of a simulated enemy, simulated by Mi-8 helicopters, as well as to cover the movement of troops, the calculations of the Strela-10M, Tunguska and Igla anti-aircraft systems are involved.

Electronic suppression of reconnaissance and navigation means of a simulated enemy is provided by calculations of the Zhitel, Borisoglebsk, and Silok electronic warfare (EW) complexes from the EW Central Military District brigade deployed in the Sverdlovsk Region.

The teaching will last until February 20.
