The press service of the Central Military District (CVD) invites media representatives to take part in the coverage of the first training of artillery crews, which will provide a festive salute from rare anti-tank guns ZIS-3 on Defender of the Fatherland Day in Yekaterinburg.

At the training ground near Yekaterinburg, artillerymen of the Central Military District will conduct the first training of the festive fireworks. The servicemen will perform solemn volleys from the rare 76-mm ZIS-3 anti-tank guns, released in 1942. Each of the artillery pieces has a unique combat experience of use during the battles of the Great Patriotic War. During the training, the gunners will work out the coordination of calculations and the synchronization of shots.

The 76-mm divisional gun ZIS-3 is the most massive weapon in the history of world artillery. For its simplicity, obedience and reliability, the Soviet artillerymen affectionately called it “Zosia”, and the Wehrmacht soldiers called it “ratchet” for its high rate of fire and the characteristic sound of a shot.

Fireworks training will take place on February 19, 2021 on the territory of the Sverdlovsky training ground.

Gathering of media representatives until 9:30 at the checkpoint of the landfill. The pass will be carried out strictly according to the list of accreditation of the press service of the Central Military District. We ask journalists to pay attention to the exact place, time of arrival and compliance with anti-epidemic measures.
