Employees of the institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Trans-Baikal Territory, during operational activities in 2020, seized more than six hundred grams of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances from illegal circulation.

All these substances were seized during an attempt to deliver them to the institutions of the region’s penitentiary system. The main methods of delivery to restricted areas were transfer, shipment, delivery during convoy or through a checkpoint.

The work on the identification and seizure of prohibited substances was carried out by officers of the Federal Penitentiary Service together with representatives of the UNK UMVD of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory, in particular with employees of the state drug control. As a result of the work done, the perpetrators were brought to justice.

There are many such examples when convicts, trying to organize the delivery of narcotic and psychotropic substances to a correctional institution or a pre-trial detention center, do not think at all about the consequences, adding a term to serve their sentence and providing criminal punishment to those who agree to help them in this. But everyone makes the choice himself.
