Foreign students from the seventh grade who study Russian as a foreign language or as a second native language are invited to participate in the festival.
Moscow has begun accepting applications for participation in the Annual International Festival of the Russian Language. It will run until April 20, 2021.
The annual international festival of the Russian language is an educational and creative platform for foreign students, which gives them the opportunity to improve their language knowledge and show their talents in creative tests.
“Our task in the development of international cooperation is the promotion of the Russian language, its preservation and development. Over the past year, the number of festival participants has doubled. This suggests that the number of those who love, want to know and study Russian is constantly growing. Over the entire period, representatives of more than 40 countries have taken part in the festival, ”said Marianna Lebedeva, director of the Moscow Center for Education Quality.
The festival program includes seven competitions: “Theatrical creativity”, “Artistic word”, “Children’s and youth cinema and television”, “Choreographic creativity”, “Vocal and choral creativity”, “Contemporary decorative and applied art and fine arts”, ” Connoisseurs of the Russian language, history and culture of Russia ”.
Foreign students, starting from the seventh grade, who study Russian as a foreign language or as a second native language in educational institutions of Russia and in foreign countries, can participate.

The festival will be held in three stages: the remote qualifying round – from April 20 to June 1, the final round – from September 1 to October 1, as well as the final face-to-face event as part of the Time to Start Dialogue international youth forum in November-December 2021. It will take place if the current restrictions related to the pandemic are relaxed or lifted.
The Moscow Center for Education Quality has been organizing the Annual International Festival of the Russian Language since 2014. In total, about five thousand contestants from more than 40 countries took part in it.
