In the army corps of the Eastern Military District on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, training sessions with RPG-7V grenade launchers and AGS-17 crews ended.

For a month, the servicemen studied the tactical and technical characteristics of grenade launchers, ways to determine the most important and dangerous targets, the most vulnerable spots of enemy armored vehicles.

At the Uspenovsky training ground, under the guidance of instructors, young specialists performed practical firing from an AGS-17 “Flame” automatic grenade launcher and an RPG-7V hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher at distances from 250 to 1500 meters, while striking stationary and moving targets imitating manpower and armored equipment of a conventional enemy.

In addition to performing fire missions, the servicemen practiced tactical actions on the battlefield: they learned the correct choice and equipment of a position, methods of covert movement on the battlefield, and determining the distance to the target.

More than 500 military personnel were involved in the training camp. Several thousand ammunition was used up in the course of training and control shooting exercises.
