Now experts are assembling elevators and installing CCTV cameras, then they will start testing electrical equipment.

In Moscow, finishing work is being completed in three underground pedestrian crossings, which are located on the Volokolamskoye Highway section from the Moscow Ring Road to the Skhodnya River. It is planned to open the crossings before the end of this year – simultaneously with the launch of traffic on the bridge across Skhodnya.

Two pedestrian crossings – near houses 112 and 116 on Volokolamsk highway – are being reconstructed. Underground tunnels have been lengthened and widened. Their reconstruction was necessary because they widen the highway itself and create side passages. Updated spacious tunnels will allow better distribution of pedestrian flows.

Before the reconstruction, there were no elevators in the crossings, now they will be provided. Elevators will help people with limited mobility and mothers with baby carriages to freely descend into the passage and go out into the street. If you wish, you can also use the special wheelchair ramps on the stairs.

In addition, another underground passage is being built not far from house 128.

“We have entered the final stage of finishing three underground pedestrian crossings. Now specialists are assembling elevators and installing video surveillance cameras. Soon the builders will start commissioning work – they will set up and test the electrical equipment. After the completion of the reconstruction and construction, the townspeople will be able to use modern and convenient pedestrian crossings, ”said the head of the Construction Department Rafik Zagrutdinov.

While the work is in full swing, pedestrians can cross the Volokolamskoe highway on two regulated zebras. In addition, a temporary overhead crossing was installed over the highway.

Works in three underground passages are carried out within the framework of the project reconstruction of the Volokolamskoe highway section from the Moscow Ring Road to the Skhodnya River. It is planned here:

– build roads with a total length of 3.7 kilometers;

– to build an overpass 404 meters long at the intersection of Volokolamskoe highway and Pokhodny proezd;

– to reconstruct the bridge across the Skhodnya River (164 meters).

The capacity of the Volokolamskoe highway was not affected during the reconstruction. For the passage of public transport and cars, two temporary bridges were built here – in the direction to the center and to the region.
