Escalators are already being installed in the lobbies, and the tunnel boring shield is finishing the last tunneling of the southern section of the line.
Monolithic works are being completed at the Novatorskaya station of the southern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro. As of today, they have already been completed by 92 percent, architectural and finishing work and installation of engineering systems have begun, the Deputy Mayor for Urban Development Policy and Construction said. Andrey Bochkarev…
“In the first lobby, escalators have been installed, the equipment of the traction-step-down substation is being installed. On the stretch between the stations “Novatorskaya” and “Vorontsovskaya”, the installation of the rigid base of the tunnels and the upper structure of the track has been completed, the last tunnel on the site is being driven, ”he said.
In total, the composition of the southern section of the BCL includes three stations: “Vorontsovskaya”, “Novatorskaya” and “Zyuzino”. All are designed according to the same type, but at the same time each has its own, individual image with a recognizable color scheme. “Novatorskaya”, for example, is remembered for the unusual design of the ceiling.
“The ceiling system together with the located lamps creates an effective play of light with many color shades that overlap in perspective,” explained Andrey Bochkarev.
At other stations of the southern section – Vorontsovskaya and Zyuzine – monolithic work is also nearing completion, the architectural finishing of the stations is underway, said Yuri Kravtsov, general director of Mosinzhproekt, the managing company for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow metro. At Vorontsovskaya, the installation of the traction-step-down substation equipment has begun, and at the Zyuzino station it has already been installed.
The last tunnel of the southern section between Vorontsovskaya and Zyuzino station is more than 80 percent. The work is carried out in difficult hydrogeological conditions – the shield passes under the existing transport facilities in mixed soils with areas of loam, watered sand and sandstone, said Yuri Kravtsov.
Open the seven-kilometer southern section of the Big Circle Line are planning already this year. Three new stations will improve transport services for residents of Prospekt Vernadsky, Obruchevsky, Konkovo, Cheryomushki and Zyuzino districts, where about 550 thousand people live. In addition, the load on the central and southern sections of the Sokolnicheskaya, Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya and Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya lines will decrease. The intensity of traffic on neighboring highways will be reduced by about 10-15 percent, which in turn will improve the environmental situation in the capital.
