The corresponding agreement on the organization of cooperation in the field of transportation and transshipment of oil products intended for export through the seaports of Russia, concluded by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Belarus.

The document opens up an opportunity for reorienting some of the goods that were previously exported through the ports of the Baltic countries to the Russian infrastructure. The document also defines the planned volume of fuel export through Russian ports. In the development of relations, the participation of the Belarusian side in the construction of a new terminal for transshipment of oil products in the Baltic is currently being discussed, as well as transportation through Russia of other types of Belarusian goods, including potash fertilizers.

“The signing of the document opens up an opportunity for further growth of cargo turnover in the sea and rail transport of Russia and increases the attractiveness of the Russian infrastructure. Russia is the main partner of Belarus in the fuel and energy sector; an active dialogue continues between us on the creation of common energy markets in the field of oil, gas and electricity. The signing of this agreement will only strengthen our economic ties, ”said Alexander Novak following the signing.
