The crew of the submarine (pl) “Veliky Novgorod” of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) completed a test exercise of leaving an emergency submarine through a torpedo tube.

The event took place at the Afalina training complex (UTK) in the Novorossiysk naval base of the Black Sea Fleet before the submarine set out to sea.

During the training, the submariners fulfilled the standards for putting on rescue equipment and practiced getting out of the torpedo tube using an individual breathing apparatus. In addition to the theoretical and practical readiness required for this exercise, the divers, at each training session, improve the psychological readiness necessary to perform this exercise.

Also in the UTK pool, the submariners conducted a training session on boarding the PSN-10 inflatable liferaft.

Trainings for evacuating personnel through a torpedo tube are one of the main methods of emergency escape from a submarine and are held regularly, in accordance with the combat training plan of the naval forces.
