The crews of the Su-27 fighters of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation, within the framework of the tactical flight exercise, conducted combat training exercises at the naval ranges of the fleet at air targets imitating the airplanes of a conventional enemy.

The launches of guided missiles against aircraft targets were performed by the crews of the Su-27 of the Baltic Fleet’s naval aviation unit. Within the framework of planned flights, the pilots worked out the tasks of detecting and destroying air targets simulating enemy aircraft using suspended weapons, both singly and as part of a pair. Aircraft targets M6 were used as simulators of air targets. The pilots performed combat firing both in the daytime and at night.

As part of a tactical flight exercise, young pilots of a fighter aviation regiment for the first time performed tasks to intercept and destroy air targets. The lieutenants worked out the standards for dressing flight uniforms, made twin takeoffs from the airfield and launched guided missiles at the airplanes of the imaginary enemy.

In addition, young pilots performed elements of air combat with simulated enemy aircraft, the role of which was performed by experienced pilots on Su-30SM fighters.

Training launches were carried out in a clearly marked area of air firing – over the sea range of the Baltic Fleet. Before the commencement of combat training, all the necessary measures were taken to ensure the safety of the local population, aircraft and surface ships. For the period of the firing, the area of the sea range was declared temporarily dangerous for the movement of air and sea vehicles.
