During the ceremony, the military commissar of Moscow, Major General Viktor Shchepilov, presented the son of a participant in the Great Patriotic War with certificates to the awards of his father – a front-line soldier who died during the Great Patriotic War.

Mikhail Zakharovich was awarded certificates to the Orders of the Red Star and the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree. Ermakov Zakhar Sergeevich in the period from March 5 to May 18, 1942, 9 times participated in battles against the Nazi invaders and mercilessly smashed them with his weapon.

Military commissariats of the Western Military District continue to search for front-line soldiers who were not presented with state awards in a timely manner, or their relatives to transfer documents to the veteran’s family for safekeeping.

In recent years, the military commissariat of Moscow handed over more than 800 state awards and certificates to them to participants in local wars and military conflicts, veterans of the Great Patriotic War or their relatives.
