The opening ceremony of the “Unique nature of the Caucasus” photo exhibition took place today in the ERA Military Innovation Technopolis.

As part of the plan of joint events between Technopolis and the Russian Geographical Society, the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “The Unique Nature of the Caucasus” was held. The exposition was provided by the Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society on the eve of the celebration of the Defender of the Fatherland Day.

The permanent exhibition includes 15 photographic pictures, such as “Kuban open spaces”, “Sailing regatta in Taman” by Valery Goncharov, “Sunset in the Snake Lagoon”, “Sunset on the Bugaz Spit”, “Sail Rock” by Evgeny Dikogo and others. In their works, the authors managed to harmoniously combine the graceful beauty and power of the nature of the Caucasus.

The right to open an exhibition of works by photographers was granted to Colonel Alexander Melnik, Deputy Head of VIT “ERA” for military-political work, and Irina Filipchenko, a member of the Krasnodar regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society. Among the invited guests were also the honored local historian of the Kuban Valery Valiev and the head of the non-profit organization for social adaptation of pensioners “Silver Age” Luiza Gusakova.

The Russian Geographical Society annually holds hundreds of exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Now Technopolis employees and guests can get acquainted with interesting works of photographers in the administrative building of Kurchatov.

For reference: The Russian Geographical Society was formed in 1845. Thanks to the members of the Society, the RGS fund is constantly replenished with unique archival documents, book and cartographic publications, photo pictures reflecting the activities of famous travelers and scientists.
