The commander of the communications platoon of the air force and air defense association of the Central Military District (CVD), Lieutenant Maksim Kramarenko, by decision of the command of the military unit, was presented with an award for saving a family of four from a fire during a fire in a private house in the Sverdlovsk Region.

On December 25, 2020, a private house caught fire in the village of Zeleny Bor. The smoke from the fire was noticed by the commander of the communications platoon, Lieutenant Maxim Kramarenko, who was returning to service after lunch. Having stopped the taxi on the side of the road, the officer rushed to help. In the burning house, the lieutenant found two children and two adult women who were frightened and confused. Maxim Kramarenko took the girls out of the house through the first floor window, and helped the women to get out through the burning front door. Once on the street, the commander of the communications platoon took the victims to a safe distance, handed them over to the neighbors and, after making sure that nothing threatened them, returned to service.

Lieutenant Maxim Kramarenko did not tell his colleagues about the incident out of modesty. The command learned about the soldier’s heroic act from eyewitnesses: one of the neighbors of the victims came to the checkpoint of the military unit and told the commander about the feat.
