MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –
On February 23 of this year, the Commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Andrei Nikolaevich Serdyukov, congratulated the servicemen and veterans of the Airborne Forces on Defender of the Fatherland Day.
In his congratulations, the commander of the Airborne Forces addressed all categories of personnel and veterans of the troops: “Dear comrades, fighting friends! On my own behalf, the Command and the Military Council of the Airborne Forces, I congratulate you on the holiday – Defender of the Fatherland Day!
Happy holiday to those who know what military service is and are devoted to it to the end. This is a holiday of those who personify the strength and might of the state, love and loyalty to their country, is a symbol of the valor and courage of all generations of the Russian army.
Serving the cause of peace, being on guard and protecting the interests of our Motherland is one of the most honorable professions on earth.
Throughout its centuries-old history, the Russian land has experienced many terrible and bloody events, in which the fearless Russian soldiers took part, who selflessly defended the sovereignty and independence, and sometimes the right to exist of the Russian state.
We are proud of our history and will not only preserve, but increase the glorious traditions of our ancestors.
At all times, the paratroopers were faithful to the glorious traditions of the “winged guard”, the traditions of valor and courage, perfectly mastered and possess modern knowledge of the art of war, the latest weapons and military equipment.
We have chosen for ourselves not an easy profession to defend the Motherland. A profession that requires strict discipline, courage, responsibility and readiness to give the most precious thing for the Fatherland, for comrades in arms – life!
My special words of congratulations to everyone who is in combat post today. You defend the national interests of our state, its borders and freedom anywhere in the world!
I would like to say the warmest words to your families today. Officers’ families are the moral support of our troops. There are no women more devoted and selfless than your mothers and wives. They endure all the hardships of army life on a par with you.
As the Commander of the Airborne Forces, I am confident that the “winged infantry” will continue to be the pride of the army and the people, and will always be where there is danger and challenge, where there is difficulty and risk, where power and precision of strike are required.
I express my gratitude to all servicemen of the Airborne Forces for your military work, valor and loyalty to the troops and our Motherland – the Russian Federation!
I wish you peace and prosperity, new achievements in professional activities in the name of strengthening and prosperity of our Fatherland – a strong and great Russia.
Nobody except us!”
