On Defender of the Fatherland Day, festive artillery fireworks will sound in nine hero cities, as well as in cities where the headquarters of military districts, fleets, combined-arms armies and the Caspian flotilla are deployed. Units of the missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will fire 30 solemn salvoes at 21:00 local time.

Separate Guards Salute Division named after Marshal of Artillery Vladimir Mikhalkin of the Western Military District will fire a festive artillery salute in Moscow.

More than 50 types of fireworks will be released into the sky of the capital of Russia, among them – “Svetlana”, “Slava”, “Rubin”, “Assol”, “Vega” and “Violet”. The domes of the breaks will exceed 300 meters in diameter. The fireworks will be launched from self-propelled combined launchers of caliber from 105 to 310 mm based on KamAZ vehicles, which will be located at VDNKh, Poklonnaya Gora and Luzhnetskaya Embankment.

The different caliber of fireworks shots and different angles of their launch will create special effects in the sky, which are provided by different heights (number of storeys) of explosions. Special software, which the fireworks installations are equipped with, will make it possible to simulate a unique fireworks scenario, make it colorful and interesting.

During the solemn military ritual, the evening sky of Moscow will be decorated with about 10 thousand fireworks shots from fireworks installations for 10 minutes. Of the 18 legendary ZIS-3 guns of the Great Patriotic War, the calculations will produce thirty blank artillery salvos.

At 9 minutes above the Luzhnetskaya embankment, the calculations of the fireworks of calibers 105, 125, 195 and 310 mm will illuminate the night with sparkling sheaves of white, blue and red colors, thereby creating the Russian tricolor in the sky.
