Representatives of the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh congratulated the servicemen serving at remote observation posts on Defender of the Fatherland Day.

On behalf of the command of the RMK, servicemen were presented with certificates, departmental awards of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and valuable gifts were presented to the best observation posts based on the results of their service.

During the festive day, the peacekeepers were presented with a festive program of creative, musical, dance groups of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Strategic Missile Forces, which will perform with an extensive concert program during a week-long tour at all observation posts, the headquarters of the group, as well as for local population in the House of Culture.

At present, Russian peacekeepers are monitoring the situation around the clock and overseeing the observance of the ceasefire. They ensure the safety of the movement of civil vehicles and the movement of residents through the Lachin corridor, the transportation of food and various goods, accompany and ensure the safety of repair crews performing tasks to restore infrastructure facilities.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The core of the Russian peacekeeping contingent is made up of units of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade (peacekeeping) of the Central Military District.
