In the garrisons, formations and units of the Pacific Fleet (PF), a solemn celebration of the Defender of the Fatherland Day is taking place. The first to celebrate the holiday were the Pacific Ocean warriors of the Troops and Forces grouping in the North-East of Russia and the servicemen of the Pacific Fleet Submarine Forces. In Victory Park, on the Alley of Glory, representatives of the command of the Kamchatka group, the administrations of the Kamchatka Territory and the city laid flowers and wreaths at the Wall of Memory.

In Vladivostok, the festive events began with the solemn raising of the Andreevsky and topmast flags colored on warships and fleet support vessels.

At noon on Korabelnaya Embankment, members of the Fleet Military Council, servicemen of formations and military units, representatives of the Primorsky Territory government and the Vladivostok leadership, war and Armed Forces veterans, youth soldiers and members of the public laid wreaths and flowers at the Eternal Flame of the “Military Glory of the Pacific Fleet” memorial. The ceremony ended with a solemn passage of the Guard of Honor company and the Pacific Fleet Orchestra.

Then, flowers were laid at the “City of Military Glory” stele on the central square of Vladivostok.

Today in the city center in honor of the Defender of the Fatherland Day, an exhibition of military equipment and weapons has been deployed, which presents about 20 models of military vehicles in service with the coastal forces of the Pacific Fleet. A demonstration performance of the Pacific Fleet Marine Corps unit took place on the central square of Vladivostok. The marines showed the residents and guests of the seaside capital the skills of hand-to-hand combat. In the same place, on the square, demonstration performances “Slavic Fun” and “Knight’s Fights”, performances of young athletes who will perform acrobatic stunts on horses are organized.

To provide participants and guests of the holiday with hot meals and tea, two field kitchens work on the main city square.

Festive events in the capital of Primorye will end with an artillery salute from 30 volleys. Salute crews of a separate marine brigade of the fleet will fire from positions in the area of ​​the Vladivostok fortress and from Cape Bobrov.
