On the section of the South Rockada from Kaspiyskaya Street to the 1st Kotlyakovsky Lane, the active phase of the construction of flyover supports has begun, the head said Moscow Construction Department Rafik Zagrutdinov.

The construction and reconstruction of 9.3 kilometers of roads is envisaged, including five overpasses (2.3 kilometers), three underground pedestrian crossings in the area of ​​house 29, building 2, building 17, building 1 and building 3, building 3 on Kantemirovskaya street.

Now construction is underway on the South Road:

– overpass of the main passage at the intersection with Proletarsky Prospekt (477.6 meters);

– overpass on Koshkina street (54.1 meters);

– overpass of the exit from Kantemirovskaya Street to the South-East Expressway (754.84 meters);

– overpass of the exit from the South-East Expressway to the side passage of Kantemirovskaya Street (280 meters);

– overpass of the exit from the South-East Expressway to Kantemirovskaya Street (707.6 meters).

Also, Kantemirovskaya Street, a section of Proletarsky Prospect from Kashirskoye Highway to Baku Street, Koshkina Street and Kavkazsky Boulevard are being reconstructed.

South Rocada is one of four new chord lines. The length of the route will be about 40 kilometers, and taking into account the junctions and back-ups – about 65 kilometers. Rokada will run from the interchange of Rublevskoye Highway with the Moscow Ring Road to Verkhniye Polya Street in Kapotnya and will connect major city highways such as the Moscow Ring Road, Kutuzovsky Prospect, Michurinsky Prospekt, Vernadsky Avenue, Leninsky Prospect, Profsoyuznaya Street, Varshavskoye Shosse and others. The new route will become a backup for the Moscow Ring Road and TTK, and will also provide access to the federal highways M9 “Baltiya” and M5 “Ural”.
