Boulevard Vesnin Brothers on the territory of the former industrial zone “ZIL” will be built in three stages. Its length will be almost a kilometer, and it will become completely pedestrian.
At the first stage of construction, an area of more than 10 thousand square meters will be landscaped – the site is planned to be commissioned next year. This was told by the chief architect of Moscow, first deputy chairman Moskomarchitecture Sergey Kuznetsov.
“The first 210 meters with extensive landscaping are planned to be commissioned next year. Already growing lindens, maples and poplars will be preserved here, and rowan and apple trees will be added to them. In addition, flower beds will be made from more than 15 thousand plants. In the future, the boulevard will become the center of the leisure and business part of the new city quarter. There will be art objects, a branch of the St. Petersburg Hermitage Museum, as well as modern housing with interesting architecture, ”he said.
Vesnin Brothers Boulevard will become a cozy and comfortable urban space with recreation areas and bicycle parking. The paving will be done with sidewalk clinker in dark red shades. Already at the first stage of construction, benches will be installed here on an area with a total length of about 120 meters.
In addition, a 40-storey skyscraper and a building with five towers will overlook the Vesnin Brothers Boulevard. Both will hand over in the second quarter of next year.
Now on the site of the former industrial zone “ZIL” a residential area is being created with parks, schools, a polyclinic, a sports cluster, areas for recreation and creativity. The city technopark “Nagatino-ZIL” will provide residents with jobs.
Anastasia Davydova’s Olympic synchronized swimming center, an ice palace, a pier with a 150-meter amphitheater, metro stations and the Moscow Central Circle have already been built on the territory of ZIL.
