Today in Moscow, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, held talks with the head of the Defense Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Major General Taalaibek Omuraliev.
General of the Army Sergei Shoigu congratulated his Kyrgyz counterpart on the occasion of his appointment as Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan.
“We are confident that your experience will make it possible to implement all plans, and the changes will contribute to strengthening the republic’s defense capability. We are ready to help improve its defense potential, ”the head of the Russian military department emphasized.
During the talks, the sides discussed issues of interaction between the two countries in the field of defense and maintaining stability in the Central Asian region.
“Our cooperation in the military field is an important factor in maintaining stability in the Central Asian region. We intend to develop it further, “General of the Army Sergei Shoigu said.
In turn, the Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan thanked Sergei Shoigu for the meeting and congratulated him on the past Defender of the Fatherland Day.
“I would like to congratulate you on the last holiday – February 23rd. This is a great holiday for us. In Kyrgyzstan, it is also a public holiday and is widely celebrated in the country, ”said Taalaibek Omuraliev.
Also during the negotiations, a Protocol on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in Kyrgyzstan was signed, and the Program for the development of strategic partnership between the two countries in the military field for the period from 2021 to 2025 was approved.
Taalaibek Omuraliev added that the approved Strategic Partnership Development Program will have a positive effect on the defense capability of the armed forces of Kyrgyzstan, as well as on the security system in the Central Asian region as a whole.
The talks were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere and confirmed the mutual disposition to further build up strategic partnership between the defense departments of the two countries.
