One of the main themes of the festival will be the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Nevsky.

The largest in Russia festival of Slavic art “Russian Field”will be held on August 7 for the tenth time. Over two thousand people from more than 50 regions of Russia will take part in it.

One of the main themes of the jubilee festival is the 800th anniversary of the birth of the statesman and military leader Alexander Nevsky. A program on the main stage will be dedicated to this event. In addition, the organizers will prepare a special stage with decorations from the reign of the prince. Particular attention will be paid to churches and monasteries associated with the life of Alexander Nevsky.

More than 10 thematic sites will appear on the territory of the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. Guests will enjoy musical and theatrical performances, sightseeing of the regions and a fair of regional craftsmen. At the new festival site this year, “National Cuisine” will present the best regional brands. The results of the competition for the most delicious porridge will also be announced there.

A large combined Russian choir of participants and headliners of the Russian Field festival will sing their favorite songs with the audience. The performance will be accompanied by a combined military brass band.

“Our unique festival this year will celebrate its first significant anniversary. Every year “Russian Field” presents its admirers, including Muscovites, guests from the regions of Russia and abroad, the wealth, diversity and originality of Slavic culture in all its manifestations. The improvement in the epidemiological situation and the increasing vaccination rate give us hope that this summer we will be able to hold an event in an offline format, which will give everyone the opportunity to fully enjoy the holiday. An incredibly colorful event awaits us in August, which will delight and surprise both adults and children, ”said the head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of Moscow

Vitaly Suchkov.

Until March 30, the organizing committee accepts applications from the participating regions, which, by tradition, will compete for the main prize in such nominations as “Best Choral Group”, “Best Choreographic Group”, “Best Instrumental Group”, “Best Folk Master” and others.

Every summer “Russian Field” unites people from all over Russia. Last year, due to the epidemiological situation, the festival was held online. Despite the new format, the event became unique in terms of the number of participants who contacted Moscow. The broadcast was watched by more than three million people. For the first time, their delegations were represented by four regions of the Russian Federation (Kamchatka Territory, Sakhalin Region, Republic of Adygea and the Republic of Dagestan) and four foreign states (Armenia, Austria, Poland and Estonia). By tradition, the Republic of Belarus took part in the holiday.
