Work on the reconstruction of transport interchanges at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with Lipetskaya Street and Verkhniye Polya Street is planned to begin by this summer, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Urban Development Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev.

“Currently, the development of documentation for the reconstruction of two transport interchanges at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with Lipetskaya Street and Verkhniye Polya Street is being completed. Active construction work at these facilities will begin in the second quarter of the year, ”said Andrey Bochkarev.

Modernization of interchanges will improve the situation on the sections of the Moscow Ring Road, as well as on adjacent roads. Practice shows that, on average, after the reconstruction of junctions, the congestion of roads near them decreases by 15–20 percent.

“In addition, the reconstruction of the interchanges of the Moscow Ring Road – Altufevskoye Highway and the Moscow Ring Road – Ostashkovskoye Highway is already underway. The work here is planned to be completed in early 2023 and in the middle of 2022, respectively, “added Andrei Bochkarev.

To increase the capacity of the interchanges, the clover variant will be replaced by an intersection with multidirectional exits. Likewise, side driveways will be made along the Moscow Ring Road, ramps to the ring highway will be built, existing ramps and high-speed transition lanes will be reconstructed.

Since 2011, the capital has completed the reconstruction and construction of 18 interchanges on the Moscow Ring Road with a total length of more than 150 kilometers of roads. Today, work continues on the reconstruction of interchanges at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with Altufevskoe and Ostashkovskoe highways, Verkhniye Polya and Kapotnya streets, as well as Lipetskaya street.
