Sappers of a separate naval engineering regiment of the Northern Fleet at one of the training grounds near the village of Shchukozero, Murmansk Region, conducted an explosive lesson.

During the lesson, military engineers worked out the issues of blasting ice and ice jams, as well as the construction of a pit for sheltering equipment in an explosive way.

In practice, the naval engineers performed the preparation of the holes, made the calculation, the preparation of charges, the binding and laying of the electric explosive circuit from the detonating cord. One of the important practical elements of the training was the preparation of the waterproofing of the charges and their laying, after which a series of detonations were carried out.

Then, during the lesson, military engineers worked out an element for constructing a pit for sheltering military equipment in an explosive way. Having made calculations, taking into account the characteristics of the rocky ground, the servicemen installed charges and made an explosion.

The peculiarity of the installation of charges was that the energy of the explosion should gradually eject the soil, loosening it and expanding the plane, not accompanied by the formation of a funnel on the surface of the earth.

The lesson was attended by more than 30 military personnel doing military service both under contract and conscription.
