On February 26, a friendly hockey match was held in Moscow with the participation of a team of veterans of Russian special forces and the national team of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. The event was attended by the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuichenko, Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Alexander Kalashnikov, two-time Olympic champion and President of Hockey Legends Ice Hockey Club Alexander Yakushev. A friendly match, timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Russian hockey and the celebration of the Day of Penitentiary Workers, was held at the CSKA Arena.
Before the match, invited guests and fans in the Hockey Museum got acquainted with a temporary exhibition dedicated to hockey in the penal system. Among the exhibits are genuine hockey sticks and skates, which were produced in the 1920s by difficult teenagers in the Bolshevsk Labor Commune, also known for the film “A Journey to Life”. Few people know, but it was in this commune near Moscow, near the Bolshevo station (Korolev), that a unique social and pedagogical experiment began. Instead of imprisonment, juvenile offenders had the opportunity to receive at least a seven-grade education, acquire a profession, and start working honestly. This was Soviet know-how in penitentiary science. It is noteworthy that the Bolshevsk labor commune produced skates, skis, hockey sticks and other sports equipment. The volume of sports products manufactured by the Bolshevsk Labor Commune was 60% of the total volume of similar things produced in the USSR. Naturally, these same difficult teenagers, while serving their sentences, played hockey. Subsequently, this game firmly entered the everyday life of the penitentiary system and became one of the means of educating and correcting convicts. The exposition also introduced visitors to rare photographs from the hockey past of the penitentiary system and told about the modern team of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia “Skating rink” and the teams of the territorial bodies of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Real skates, hockey sticks and skis of the Bolshevsk Labor Commune were kindly provided for temporary display by the Museum Association “Museums of Science City Korolev”. The exhibition was prepared by the employees of the FKU TsOUVR of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
The ice hockey team of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia “Skating rink” was played by Deputy Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Anatoly Yakunin, Head of the Main Operations Directorate of the FSIN of Russia, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Yevgeny Gnedov, hockey veterans and employees of the department.
As part of HC Granit, in addition to veterans of Russian special units, Olympic champion Yevgeny Davydov, two-time Russian champion Alexander Guskov, USSR Cup winner Sergei Babariko and other hockey veterans, as well as theater and film actors took to the ice.
Before the starting throw-in of the puck, the director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Alexander Kalashnikov, two-time Olympic champion Alexander Yakushev and the president and captain of HC Granit Nikolay Ivanov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

In a bitter struggle, the hockey players of Granit won with a score of 7: 4.

Forward Andrey Burkovsky (HC “Granit”) and goalkeeper Andrey Kulikov (collection of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia) were recognized as the best players of the match.
