In the Leningrad Region, servicemen of the units of the Red Banner Communication Brigade of the combined-arms army of the Western Military, as part of special exercises, will work out the issues of ensuring uninterrupted data transmission in difficult meteorological conditions.

As part of the mission, the servicemen equip sites for the deployment of automated control points APE-5, deployed standard communications, combining them into a single radio network using the Redut mobile communications complex.

During the exercise, signalmen will improve their professional skills in receiving and transmitting digital data, implementing their camouflage, learning how to exchange data in conditions of electronic suppression, a large amount of precipitation in the form of rain and snow, the formation of ice on transmitting installations.

In addition, the actions of the military will be complicated by the actions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups, the enemy conducting reconnaissance from the air using unmanned aerial vehicles.

More than 200 servicemen and about 40 units of military equipment from communications units were involved in the special exercises.

APE-5 communication systems include GLONASS satellite navigation system, a cartographic information processing device, built-in servers, video conferencing devices and additional power generators.
