Monolithic works are being completed at the Kakhovskaya station, and engineering systems are being dismantled at the Varshavskaya and Kashirskaya stations.
Work on the reconstruction of the Kakhovskaya branch, which will become part of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro, is being carried out at all its stations, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development and Construction Andrey Bochkarev…
“Reconstruction of the Kakhovskaya line is proceeding in accordance with the schedule. Active work has been deployed at all three stations. The highest readiness is now at the Kakhovskaya station: monolithic works are being completed here, architectural finishing and facing of the columns and the platform ceiling are underway, the installation of engineering systems has begun, ”he said.
Work on the Kakhovskaya line became the largest reconstruction of the metro line in the capital. At the Varshavskaya station, the specialists have already completed the main dismantling works, it remains to dismantle the engineering systems of the eastern vestibule of the station. This was told by Yuri Kravtsov, general director of Mosinzhproekt, the managing company for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow metro. They also equip a platform there, carry out the finishing of technical premises, and cover the passenger area.
At the Kashirskaya station, where the northern platform was already opened after replacing the cladding, dismantling of the cladding of the western lobby was completed. Now specialists are updating engineering systems, working on redevelopment of technical premises.
The stations of the Kakhovskaya line were closed for reconstruction three years ago. Work at Varshavskaya and Kashirskaya is scheduled to be completed in 2022. The opening of “Kakhovskaya” is scheduled for this year. It will become part of the southern section of the BCL.
By the end of the year, the south-western section of the BCL will also be completed, which will improve transport services in the Ochakovo-Matveevskoe, Ramenki and Vernadsky Prospekt districts.
“In the south-western section of the Big Circle Line, work is underway to equip all stations with engineering devices, as well as life support systems, and we will soon begin final finishing work. The task is to complete the construction of this section by the end of this year, ”noted Andrey Bochkarev.
The southwestern section of the BCL includes four stations – Prospekt Vernadsky, Michurinsky Prospekt, Aminevskaya and Davydkovo. All of them have an original design and will be adapted for passengers with limited mobility.
The construction of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro is the world’s largest metro construction project.
The BCL will be 70 kilometers long and will include 31 stations and three electric depots (including the existing Kakhovskaya – Kashirskaya section). Thus, the BCL could become the longest metro ring line in the world, overtaking the current champion among underground rings – the second ring line of the Beijing Metro (57 kilometers).
The large circular line will connect the existing and prospective radial branches at a distance of up to 10 kilometers from the existing circular line, which will relieve the first (stations inside the ring) and the second (ring line) interchange lines of the subway.
