For the second year in a row, the separate command and measurement complex (OKIK) of the Main Testing Space Center named after G.S. Titov of the 15th Army of the Aerospace Special Forces, located in Shchelkovo near Moscow, was given the honorary name “Shock military unit”.

The honorary title was assigned to the Shchelkovo OKIK based on the results of a control check for the 2020 academic year, during which the servicemen confirmed a high level of readiness to perform tasks in any conditions of the current situation, including in the conditions of bringing the OKIK to the highest degree of combat readiness.

For the first time, OKIK became a “shock” at the end of 2019.

Shchelkovsky OKIK performs the most important tasks of conducting communication sessions and control of Russian spacecraft for military, socio-economic and scientific purposes, receiving and processing all types of measurement information, monitoring the technical condition of spacecraft onboard equipment, maintaining the specified parameters of the global navigation field, providing television and radio communications International Space Station, as well as participation in flight tests and development of samples of promising military and dual-use space assets.

During the past year, the Shchelkovo OKIK on-duty forces conducted about 90,000 control and management sessions for the spacecraft of the Russian orbital group.
