The Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade will discuss with the Ministry of Industry and Trade measures to establish communication between regional businesses and trade missions of the Russian Federation abroad to support exports. This was announced on Tuesday, March 2, by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting with the business community of the Altai Territory.
The minister recalled that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is currently rebooting the system of Russian trade missions. “We are now working together to develop a new strategy for foreign economic activity. And we are striving, among other things, to load the trade missions with new tasks,” he said. The head of the department noted that Russia has made significant progress in import substitution in the field of agricultural engineering. “In some areas, we have even outgrown, and the fact that you supply your products to 27 countries confirms this,” he said to the businessman, who asked about new measures to support exports.
According to Maxim Reshetnikov, trade missions should accompany systemic export programs. “We need to form these horizontal programs, target them by country, including at your request. And come out with this,” he stressed, confirming that the foreign economic block of the Ministry of Economic Development will join the relevant work of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
“Let us, together with the regional export support centers, think about how we can ensure effective communication with trade missions,” the minister suggested.
Maxim Reshetnikov called a separate task for interdepartmental study the need to support the export of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, including through the development of exports through the channels of electronic trading platforms.
