Metropolitan entrepreneurs are helped to enter the world market and find their customers, they provide grants and subsidies, and also offer educational programs.
The volume of non-resource non-energy exports of the capital in 2020 amounted to $ 39.86 billion. This is almost a quarter of the total indicator of Russia, wrote in Sergey Sobyanin on his blog.
“In 2020, the volume of non-resource non-energy exports of Russia exceeded $ 161 billion – a record achievement over the past few years. And almost a quarter of this volume – $ 39.86 billion – was provided by the city of Moscow, “he wrote.
In general, the volume of exports of enterprises in the capital increased by 31 percent. Products were supplied to 183 countries, including Belarus (2.4 billion dollars), Kazakhstan (2.65 billion dollars), China, including Hong Kong (3.49 billion dollars), the United States (2.48 billion dollars), Germany (1 , $ 23 billion) and Japan ($ 1.12 billion).
Moscow supplies abroad mechanical equipment, machinery and computers, cars, chemical products (for example, nonwovens and polyethylene) and food (sweets, drinks and meat delicacies).
According to Sergei Sobyanin, this result was achieved thanks to the new industrialization of the city, which has been going on for several years. The Moscow government fully supports the capital’s industrialists.
“In 2020, we made several new decisions, including significantly expanded targeted support for exports from Moscow. For example, for the first time, an export cashback was introduced – a grant in the amount of 10 percent of the proceeds from export contracts (but not more than 10 million rubles). Now we are compensating for the costs not only for the transportation of goods abroad, but also for the preparation for export, ”the Moscow Mayor said.
Also, potential exporters were able to register free accounts on the world’s leading marketplaces Alibaba.com, Europages.com, as well as create stores on Ebay.com and promote products on Tmall.com. The E-com Success acceleration program has also become popular.
This year, another support measure was launched – the placement of goods from Moscow companies in duty-free shops at Moscow airports.
“Exporting is not difficult. An original idea and a quality product are needed. And the Moscow Government will help deliver it to consumers anywhere in the world, ”the Moscow Mayor wrote.
Entrepreneurs can also receive grants and subsidies, take part in major industry exhibitions and business missions (including online). For them, lectures, master classes and acceleration programs are conducted, as well as targeted analysis of markets in different countries.
“In general, the amount of funds allocated to exporters in 2020 increased sevenfold – to almost 500 million rubles. And the number of companies that received subsidies and grants has increased fivefold. In absolute terms, the amounts seem to be small. 500 million rubles ($ 6.7 million) is just 0.02 percent of Moscow’s total exports. But these small sums opened access to global markets for hundreds of small and medium-sized enterprises in Moscow, ”concluded Sergei Sobyanin.
