In St. Petersburg, in the Admiralty, in the branch of the Central Naval Library, on the eve of the Submariner’s Day, an exhibition was opened dedicated to the formation and development of the Submarine Forces of the Russian Navy.

The exhibition contains unique documents describing in detail both the events of the birth of the submarine fleet at the beginning of the 20th century, and the modern stage of its development.

In the funds of the branch of the Central Naval Library in the Admiralty, there are more than 550 copies of books telling about the history of the creation of submarines in our country, the development of their device and tactics of use in naval operations, the formation of submarine forces as an integral part of the modern Russian Navy. A special place at the exposition is given to publications that reveal the role and significance of the actions of the submarine fleet in the most important strategic sea areas during the years of the Great Patriotic War.

The branch of the Central Naval Library is located in the building complex of the Main Admiralty in St. Petersburg. During the operation of the branch, more than 80% of the personnel of the Main Command of the Navy, as well as civilian personnel, officers arriving on business trips, and representatives of industrial enterprises cooperating with the command of the Navy, have become readers.
