On the Tersk ridge, personnel of the Chechen search and rescue unit of the EMERCOM of Russia were trained. Rescuers practiced actions to carry out rescue operations in the winter in a mountainous landscape.

The event, which is part of the professional training program for rescuers, was held in order to improve the technologies of search and rescue operations and improve the professional skills of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Experienced Chechen USAR team instructors taught young colleagues how to safely navigate rocky terrain, deploy a bivouac, locate the “victim” by the signal of an avalanche sensor, provide first aid and use various methods for transporting him.

The conditions of the preparatory lesson were as close as possible to real search and rescue operations in the mountains.

In the course of the lesson, the tactics of the climbers passing in pairs of two with alternate belay on a steep snow slope was worked out.

In addition, the rescue climbers had to solve tactical and technical problems, during the solution of which the individual preparedness and capabilities of each participant were checked. As a result of passing all the stages, the ability to interact with each other was found out.

The rescuers successfully completed all the tasks and met the set time.
