The Corvette of the Baltic Fleet “Stoyky” and the tanker “Kola”, performing the tasks of a long voyage, completed a business call at the port of Salalah (Oman).

During the stay of Russian ships in Salalah, the sailors replenished the necessary ship stocks, performed the necessary routine maintenance and inspected the ships. This is the second call of the Baltic Fleet ships to the port of the Sultanate of Oman since the beginning of the long voyage.

Currently, the Stoyky corvette and the Kola tanker have left the port and continued to carry out tasks as part of the regular presence of the Russian Navy forces in the areas of the Gulf of Aden and the Horn of Africa that are potentially dangerous from pirate attacks.

During its stay in the Indian Ocean, the crew of the Russian ship conducted several dozen exercises of various orientations, including anti-aircraft and anti-submarine defense. An anti-piracy exercise was conducted with the anti-terror group.

A detachment of ships of the Baltic Fleet, consisting of the Stoyky corvette, the Kola medium tanker and the Yakov Grebelsky sea tug, left the permanent base in Baltiysk to fulfill the planned tasks of the long voyage on December 16, 2020.
