In Vyborg (Leningrad Region) at the Russian Fencing Championship among juniors and juniors U21, the foil and foil fencer team competitions were held, which brought army athletes one gold and two silver medals.

Thus, the foil fencers were the first to compete for the command set of medals within the framework of the Russian Fencing Championship among juniors and juniors under 21 years old. The best result was shown by the first team of St. Petersburg, which included Zakhar Kozlov, Dmitry Osipov, Kirill Tikhonov and Daniil Fedorov.

In the quarterfinals, the army team turned out to be stronger than the representatives of the Rostov region (45:27), and in the semifinals they won over the second team of St. Petersburg (45:43). In the final, the St. Petersburgers were opposed by foil fencers from the Kursk region. The meeting ended with a score of 44:37 and became gold for Kozlov. In the match for the third place, the first team of the Moscow region beat the second team of St. Petersburg with a score of 45:43 – 45:43.

In the women’s team competitions of foil fencers, the first teams of St. Petersburg and the Kursk region also contested the right to climb to the top step of the podium. This time, two representatives of the Central Sports Club of the Army – Angelina Kononova and Elena Petrova – took part in the first team of St. Petersburg.

The final meeting ended not in favor of the team of Kononova and Petrova – 42:45, and our athletes rose as part of their team to the second step of the podium. The third team of the Kursk region became the bronze medalists, having beaten the first team of Moscow (45:35) in the match for the third place.
