The leadership of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Vologda Region took part in two radio broadcasts at once. The occasion for the speech was the professional holiday of the department employees – the Day of the Penitentiary System Workers.

The guests of the radio station “Komsomolskaya Pravda” were the Deputy Head of the Penitentiary Department Vladislav Ushakov and the Assistant Head for the Observance of Human Rights in the Penitentiary System Dmitry Shishkin. As part of the radio broadcast, representatives of the penitentiary system highlighted the issues of work with personnel – staff recruitment, career guidance work with young people, training in departmental educational organizations, professional training of employees. The conversation also touched upon the prevention of crime among convicts and their employment.

The participants in the discussion at the Echo of Vologda radio station were Natalya Apanashchenko, head of the department for educational and social work with convicts of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Vologda Region, and Pyotr Rozhin, head of the regime and supervision department. During the conversation, the guests of the studio talked about ensuring law and order and legality in correctional institutions of the region, maintaining appropriate conditions of detention of convicts and persons in custody, observing their rights, freedoms and legitimate interests, as well as activities to educate and correct citizens who have violated the law. The listeners learned about how the activities of the department employees are organized to suppress attempts to transfer prohibited items to the territory of correctional institutions and the responsibility for such offenses.
