Today, on the territory of the branch of the Ministry of Defense of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Laos, a solemn ceremony of presenting certificates to servicemen of the Lao People’s Army sappers who completed a full training program under the guidance of Russian specialists took place.

The training of the military personnel of the People’s Army of Laos under the program “Organization of reconnaissance and cleaning the area (objects) from explosive objects” took place from January 15 of this year. Among the academic disciplines – “Means of search for explosive objects and protection of a sapper”, “Ammunition and means of destruction”, “Explosives” and “International standards of mine action”.

This year, 30 soldiers were sent for training from the Lao side. The training was attended by both military sergeants and officers representing various units of the engineering troops of the national army, including teachers of military educational institutions: the military academy “Kommadam” and the “School of sergeants”.

This is the third time that similar training courses for sappers have been held in Laos, starting in 2018. During this time, 69 servicemen of the Lao engineering troops have been trained and trained.

In the course of their studies, the graduates learned to use Russian means of searching for explosive objects previously donated by the Russian Federation, as well as to identify and destroy detected ammunition in various ways.

Classes with Lao sappers were held both in classrooms and on field training sites, where trainees improved their practical skills. All Lao military personnel have successfully passed the final certification.
