Servicemen of the artillery units of the mountain motorized rifle formation of the combined arms formation of the Central Military District (CVO) stationed in the Republic of Tyva, within the framework of the exercise, ensured the safe passage of the military equipment convoy along the mountain routes using a “fire corridor”.

According to the plan of the exercise, servicemen of motorized rifle units on armored vehicles “Tiger” and “Typhoon” had to march along a route controlled by conditional illegal armed formations (IAF). In order to cover the columns on mountain roads, the artillery crews of the Nona-SVK self-propelled guns received a combat training mission to inflict fire damage on targets in places of expected ambushes and possible routes for the advance of a simulated enemy, as well as the location of its firing points.

During the movement of the column, the artillerymen delivered preemptive strikes against planned targets in the alleged dangerous directions, creating a “fire corridor” for the further movement of troops.

About 500 servicemen and more than 30 units of military and special equipment were involved in the exercise.

The combined arms formation of the Central Military District is deployed in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Tyumen, Irkutsk regions, Altai Territory and the Republic of Tyva. It includes motorized rifle, artillery and anti-aircraft missile formations, RChBZ and communications troops.
