In the Central House of Culture of the village of Zelenoborsky, for everyone who wants to touch creativity and purchase a piece of handicraft for themselves, an annual fair of arts and crafts “Zelenoborsk craftswomen” was held, where, in addition to various souvenirs from local residents, products from Zelenoborsk colony-settlement No. 20 were presented.
The initiative of the staff of the educational service of the colony-settlement to take part in the fair was actively supported by the convicts attending the creative circle and participating in the KP-20 volunteer movement. Artistic products made by them with their own hands – knitted socks and slippers, decorative panels and handicrafts made of clay and wood, hand-made embroidered paintings – were popular with local residents.
At the request of the craftswomen themselves, all the proceeds from the sale of products were transferred to the Gift of Hope Charitable Foundation, which provides assistance to seriously ill children in the Kandalaksha region. The Foundation also supports children left without parental care and children in difficult life situations.
According to the coordinator of the action, the head of the KP-20 detachment, Elena Mironova, participation in such events is a real opportunity for convicted women to show their best spiritual qualities, kindness and care for children.
Employees of KP-20 and employees of FKUZ MSCh-51, who took a feasible financial participation in collecting funds for the “Give Hope” fund, did not stand aside from the charitable action. After all, there are no other people’s children.
