The meeting was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the liquidation of the consequences of the devastating earthquake in Japan.

Deputy Consul General of Japan in Khabarovsk Toshiaki Kadokura, Consul for Economic Affairs Masaaki Sato with his wife and an employee of the Japan Center Ayano Kitamura visited the Far Eastern Regional Search and Rescue Team of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, met with rescuers who took part in eliminating the consequences of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March 2011 in Japan. Rescuers worked in the northeast of the island of Honshu, in the city of Sendai.

To assist in eliminating the consequences of the emergency, rescuers from Tsentrospas, Leader, and the Siberian regional unit of the Russian Emergencies Ministry also arrived in Japan, and brought special equipment and equipment to search for victims and retrieve people from the rubble. The Russian Emergencies Ministry planes delivered humanitarian aid to Japan. For the Japanese delegation, rescuers conducted an excursion around the detachment.

The Deputy Consul General expressed gratitude to the rescuers for their help and support.
