MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

The picturesque area in the north-west of the capital over the five centuries of its existence has turned from a small village into a part of a modern metropolis. However, despite the radical transformation, water and everything connected with it remains the main thing for the residents of Strogin.

Strogino is called the area with some of the best landscapes in Moscow. There is always a surface of water in their center. The river, as well as its floodplains, islands, backwaters and even its own sea, have always determined the life of people in this place. Historians associate the name of the area with the water crafts of the inhabitants. The most popular version says that it came from a prison – fishing tackle. Therefore, it is not surprising that today a golden jail trident adorns the region’s coat of arms.

For a time

The villages that were located on the site of the modern district have been known since the 16th century. Then there were flood meadows, where the tsar’s horses were herded, and in the Moscow River fishermen caught pike, bream, pike perch and other fish. By the way, until about the 19th century, this place was called Ostrogino, but over time, the first letter of the toponym disappeared.

In the 1930s, a huge construction of the Moscow-Volga canal unfolded on the territory of today’s Strogin. About 700 thousand GULAG prisoners dug out by hand a giant quarry with a diameter of one and a half kilometers, which became the Stroginsky backwater. And during the Great Patriotic War, anti-aircraft batteries were stationed here, protecting Moscow from air raids. They immediately formed a convoy with food for the besieged Leningrad – it was from here that the legendary Road of Life began. Today the name of the main alley of the park in the Kirovskaya floodplain reminds of this. Many streets of the region bear the names of heroes and commanders.

And in the 1960s, when mass housing construction began in Moscow, these lands, surrounded by water and beaches, were chosen for development. The area was then annexed to Moscow, and residential high-rise buildings began to grow on it. Today Strogino is the main area for lovers of recreation by the water and water sports. On the widest body of water in Moscow, people go for water skiing, kiting, windsurfing, sailing and playing beach soccer.

From sunbathing to creative activities

New public spaces in Strogin began to be created several years ago. Thus, on the banks of the Stroginskaya floodplain, in 2017–2018, a comfortable beach with wooden decking was arranged, and the track pavement was renewed in the green zone. Endlessly gazing at the water and sunbathing is now possible lying on wooden sun loungers… For outdoor training, we have equipped grounds with horizontal bars and punching bags, five-a-side football fields, a basketball court and a tennis court. Comprehensive improvement also affected the beach recreation area in the Kirovskaya floodplain.

In 2019, a new space appeared on Kulakova Street, where, according to the program “My region” landscaped the park-boulevard. The street furniture was changed here, a park swing and figures of fairytale heroes were installed. For children, they created a whole “Adventure Trail” of several sites, where there are rope ladders, and a climbing wall, and tunnels, and a sandbox with an excavator, and even trampolines. A small area with exercise equipment, tennis tables and a barbell was made for the athletes.

A comfortable pedestrian zone has also appeared near the western lobby metro station “Strogino”… The paths here were paved with multi-colored tiles, new benches were installed, flowers and trees were planted. In addition, 20 district yards have become greener and more comfortable in three years.

In March, a new cultural center was added to the list of places where you can spend your time. Marshal Katukov street… It was opened on the site of the former “Tajikistan” cinema. The idea of creating a new public space was to make the center accessible to everyone. Now there is the Sovremennik club, headed by the famous actor, director and choreographer Yegor Druzhinin. Here they teach dance, vocals, the basics of theatrical and circus art, as well as programming circles, playing musical instruments, painting, foreign languages and others.

In addition to the construction of a new building for Sovremennik, the club premises in Nemansky Proezd and Isakovsky Street were repaired as part of the My District program. In addition, the renovation took place in four buildings of the library No. 248 on Kulakov and Marshal Katukov streets, as well as in the children’s music school named after S.M. Maykapar and three buildings of the T.A. Dokshitser.

Keeping up with the times

New buildings are being built for city schools in Strogino. In 2019, on Knowledge Day, we opened new building of school # 1302… A four-storey building with a facade decorated with bright mosaics was erected on Isakovskogo Street, and it was given to children in grades 6-11. Pupils of the first – fifth grades study in the old building. The new school building has become a modern space equipped with the latest technology: with linguistic laboratories, an IT training ground and 3D printers.

And the fact that this knowledge is where to apply it proves Technopark “Strogino”where scientists are working on technologies that have no analogues in the world. It was here, for example, that a vacuum apparatus for rapid wound healing, hemostatic powder, orthoses made of low-temperature thermoplastic for fracture treatment, transport systems for viruses, and much more were created. The technopark helps such projects in a comprehensive manner: from the moment the idea appears to the organization of production.

Another unique object of the district is the center “My documents”… Five years ago, he was recognized as the best in Russia. In addition, a training center is located in the office. “My documents”… It became the first educational institution in the country that trains specialists in the provision of public services: they train employees in the art of communicating with people and skills in stress resistance. Hundreds of face-to-face trainings and thousands of distance courses have already been held here.

The first in the country: the training center of offices “My Documents” celebrates its fifth anniversary “My district”: the territory near the metro station “Strogino” put in order For children, athletes and history buffs: 10 new recreation areas in the North-West Administrative District

On the ground and underground

Once upon a time, the Strogino area was actually cut off from the mainland by a huge number of reservoirs. Today, the transport infrastructure is actively developing here. The first batch of new Vityaz-Moscow low-floor trams was delivered to the depot on Tvardovskogo Street. Just by the end of the year here 19 three-section and 40 single-section cars will arrive… They will gradually replace the previous generation high-floor trams. Tram tracks on the Stroginskoye Highway have been overhauled. And 64 new bus stops were installed for passengers throughout the district.

The metro came here back in 2008 with the opening of the Strogino station of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. The station of the same name will open in the coming years on the new Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya line, which will stretch from the Moscow City business center beyond the Moscow Ring Road – to Kuntsevo. The residents of the north-western regions will have alternative routes, and the travel time for some of them will be reduced by 1.5 times.

Strogino is also unusual in that a large North-West tunnel passes here deep under Serebryany Bor. https: // This is a complex of three two-tiered tunnels, on the lower tiers of which subway trains travel, and on top of it there is a highway – part of Marshal Zhukov Avenue. Between the two main tunnels there is a small one – a service one – for communication and evacuation of people if necessary. The movement was opened here in 2007 and 2008.

The new North-West Expressway also passes through Strogino, which completed in 2019… The expressway stretches for 83 kilometers: along it you can get to Dmitrovskoe highway in one direction and to Borovskoe highway in the other. At the end of 2020, another facility was opened, which improved the transport situation in the area – interchange at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with Volokolamskoe Highway… The complex transport hub was reconstructed: a new overpass was built and the existing ones were expanded.

Stroginsky Bridge will be repaired in the north-west of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin spoke about the continuation of the program of overhaul of polyclinics

Plans for tomorrow

Public spaces and infrastructure will continue to be built and rebuilt. For the next two years, several large projects are planned in Strogino within the framework of the My District program.

One of the main directions will be the improvement of the park “Birch Grove” and the park in Nemanskiy proezd. In addition, new public spaces will appear on boulevards along Tallinskaya Street and Marshal Katukov Street. Also, improvement works will take place in more than 60 yards of the district.

Major overhaul waiting for the Stroginsky bridge… It was erected in 1981, when the active development of the area began. There are plans to completely replace the road surface of the bridge, including waterproofing, repair drainage systems, barriers and railings. The project also provides for the repair of tram tracks in the middle of the carriageway. All these works will take place without completely blocking traffic.

A new building with an area of 9.5 thousand square meters is being built for the Strogino Technopark on Tvardovskogo Street. Soon it will house new production facilities and warehouses.

IN comprehensive modernization program polyclinics of the district also got there. This year, a major overhaul began in the children’s polyclinic No. 58 (branch No. 1 on Kulakova street) and polyclinic No. 180 (branch No. 2 on Isakovskogo street). After the completion of the work, they will fully comply with new Moscow standard… Polyclinics will be equipped with modern equipment so that the most frequent examinations can be carried out near the house. The zoning principle will be revised in the buildings: the most visited offices will be located on the lower floors, and the less visited and administrative ones – on the upper floors. Doctors will be assigned to them so as to reduce the likelihood of queues.

But nevertheless, the main event in the field of health care for the residents of the district will be the opening of a new adult clinic on Tvardovskogo Street (possession 10). The building with an area of more than seven thousand square meters will be divided into two parts – the emergency room and the clinic itself. On each of the seven floors, specialized departments will be located – rooms for functional and radiation diagnostics, prevention and rehabilitation. The space here will be made as open and comfortable as possible for visitors, buffets and rest rooms for doctors will be equipped. It is planned to put it into operation in 2022.
