The servicemen of the electronic warfare (EW) units of the Central Military District (CVO), during the counterterrorism exercise in the Siberian and Volga Federal Districts, provided cover for military facilities from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles on military facilities.

As part of the exercise, the calculations of the Borisoglebsk-2 complexes detected control signals for unmanned aerial vehicles of a simulated enemy within a radius of 30 km. EW specialists suppressed the identified radio channels and disabled the UAV.

The servicemen also worked out the tasks of electronic protection of military facilities, electronic reconnaissance with the interception of communication signals from various technical means, as well as tasks of countering the technical means of reconnaissance of a conventional enemy.

The exercise is being conducted in accordance with the instructions of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee from March 16 to March 22, 2021 under the leadership of the commander of the military district, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin.

More than 2,000 servicemen and more than 300 units of military and special equipment are involved in the exercises.

The purpose of the exercise is to improve the practical skills of officials of command and control associations, commanders of formations and military units in managing subordinate forces and assets when performing tasks to eliminate illegal armed formations and terrorist groups during a counter-terrorist operation.
