A large-scale program of regional cooperation in tourism, urban planning and landscaping is being implemented between Moscow, Crimea and Sevastopol.

A festive concert dedicated to the 7th anniversary of the reunification of Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia took place at Luzhniki. It was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

“Since ancient times, our ancestors have mastered this territory. In the 10th century, a significant part of it became part of the Old Russian state. Here, in this place, in Korsun (in Kherson today), Prince Vladimir and his squad were baptized – this means that it is here that there is a sacred place, the center of the formation of our spiritual unity, which ultimately formed the basis of the Russian nation and a single centralized the Russian state. This is an extremely important place for our hearts, souls and faith, ”said Vladimir Putin.

According to him, the 2014 referendum restored historical justice: “We have once again clearly, clearly demonstrated to ourselves and to the whole world that our people have such an opportunity and ability to unite around the interests of the Motherland.”

Sergei Sobyanin added that Muscovites followed the events in Crimea and hoped for reunification. “Despite the fact that for a quarter of a century we were on different borders, we believed that we would be united. Not for a single day did Muscovites give up hope for the reunification of Crimea and Russia. Crimea has always been a sacred place for us, and Sevastopol has always been our sister city, ”he said.

Today, a large-scale program of regional cooperation is being implemented between Moscow, Crimea and Sevastopol.

“We build, repair, modernize hundreds of social and cultural facilities – kindergartens, schools, clinics, hospitals, restore infrastructure, improve parks, streets, embankments. Hundreds of thousands of Muscovites come to Crimea every year, tens of thousands of Crimeans – to Moscow. We are becoming closer and dearer, ”concluded Sergei Sobyanin.

In 2019, Moscow and Crimea signed cooperation program, which involves the implementation of joint projects in various areas of the economy and urban economy. It is calculated until the end of 2023.
