Crews of warships and rescue vessels, naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet will ensure the fulfillment of the course mission L-2 in the sea of ​​diesel-electric submarines “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky” and “Volkhov”. This task is an integral part of the training program for a submarine ship to perform tasks as intended with the performance of combat exercises in various operational and tactical situations.

During the development of the first stages of the L-2 “Varshavyanka” will pass on the surface at a certain distance at a given speed behind the base minesweepers of the Baltic naval base, which will sweep the fairway.

In the sea, the submariners will conduct naval combat exercises to combat survivability, to develop combat crews with the conditional use of torpedo, mine and rocket weapons.

As part of working out the planned course missions, submarine crews in the areas of combat training of the fleet will perform elements of a single voyage and make deep-sea diving in one of the areas of the Baltic Sea.

During deep-sea diving, the crews will check the operation of all systems and mechanisms of the submarines, work out the algorithm of actions when controlling the ship at great depths and with various methods of ascent to the surface.

B-274 Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Volkhov are Russian Project 636.3 Varshavyanka diesel-electric submarines. The series of submarines 636.3 differs significantly from the previous “Varshavyanka”. The updated inertial navigation system, the latest-generation BIUS and modern missile and torpedo armament. Submarines of this project are designed to combat surface ships and submarines, lay minefields, and conduct reconnaissance. One of the main advantages of these submarines is their low noise level.
