Servicemen of the Southern Military District (YuVO) and pupils of the Cossack Yunarmeyskaya reconnaissance group “Georgievtsy” took part in the military field gathering “Polygon” dedicated to the spring conscription into the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Army.
The gathering took place on the territory of the Kumzha historical and ethnographic complex in the Zheleznodorozhny district of the city of Rostov-on-Don.
Also, the military field gathering was attended by the parents of the youth soldiers, instructors, mentors, servicemen of the sponsored military unit, representatives of the DOSAAF of Russia in the Rostov region.
There were several training points at the assembly, where the Yunarmeys could master the disassembly and assembly of the Kalashnikov assault rifle, practice shooting with the use of light and noise blank cartridges from modern weapons and the “Weapon of Victory” (decommissioned bare weapons of the Great Patriotic War), engineer reconnaissance and throwing grenades.
Also, tactical exercises on rough terrain were conducted with the Yunarmeys, the guys learned how to cook food in field conditions and overcame an obstacle course.
These classes are held with the aim of preparing children and youth for service in the Russian army, as well as preparing for admission to cadet corps, Suvorov schools and higher military educational institutions.
Young defenders of the Fatherland themselves and members of their families took an active part in organizing training points. For some members of the families of young soldiers and instructors-mentors who are in the category of military personnel in the reserve, these classes serve as one of the forms of military retraining and improvement of their army knowledge acquired during the years of service in the ranks of the Russian army.
After the end of the class, the participants of the gathering tasted delicious soldier’s porridge, cooked over a fire, and fragrant tea with pancakes.
