In the motorized rifle unit of the 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in North Ossetia, the army stage of the Field Kitchen competition has started, during which food service specialists will bake Ossetian pies.
Military chefs will compete in the preparation of one dish for 10 people according to the recipes of the national cuisines of the peoples of the Caucasus in the field kitchen KP-20 and KP-30. It can be salads, first, second courses with a side dish, prepared taking into account the peculiarities of the national cuisine of the regions of deployment of military units of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District.
Bakery specialists will prepare dough and bake Ossetian pies, sweet rolls and more than 200 loaves of bread in the field on the PCB-04 trailed bakery unit.
The taste qualities of the dishes prepared by the contestants will be assessed by a special commission of the command of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District, as well as by the guests of the event.
The competition is attended by teams of formations and military units of the Southern Military District, stationed in the republics of North Ossetia, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria and South Ossetia. There are a total of 8 teams with a total of about 50 servicemen, including chiefs of food services of military units.
The winners of the competition will represent the team of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District at the district stage of the “Field Kitchen” competition.
